last night i met up with 현정 and her dad for dinner.
we went to a korean place called crystal jade some mall on orchard road.
korean food here is insanely expensive [50$] compared to the rest of the singapore dining experience.
afterward we went to ion orchard, home to 8 stories of shopping paradise with over 320 stores.
stores include: armani, dolce & gabana, miu miu, juicy couture, chanel, and about a million others. there were security guards everywhere and a line outside of louis vuitton to get in.

monday 3 augusttoday was just another day at sentosa beach with the americans, two canadians, and a brit.
the water at sentosa is extremely salty (all the better to stay afloat!), the sun extremely strong, and the weather extremely warm.
i also saw lots of animals today! a salamander and peacock just walking around sentosa island and a monkey on campus near the bus stop! amazing!
i also did my laundry for the first time today.
singapore has magical laundry detergent. my clothes are sparkling and the cleanest i have ever seen coming out of a school laundry machine where whites, brights, and darks are mixed together!
the dryers however, are the exact opposite of magical. the majority of my clothes are now scattered around my room on hangers and hooks hoping to get dry after a 1.5 hour spin in the dryer. oh, well...
